Indian Railways is divided into 16 zones all across the country. One of them is Central Railways. A large number of railways transfer from Central Railway zone which covers the parts of Maharashtra and several parts of North-Eastern Karnataka. This zone also covers certain parts of Southern Madhya Pradesh. Trains from here depart to almost all of the four dimensions of the country. Central Railways carry a well above four lakh passengers on daily basis. Various Mail, Express and passengers trains are being run by Central Railways. This zone of the railways is also furcated into Neral-Maharasthra Line which is known as (Narrow Gauge Line). This is the rail link between Neral and another hill station of Matheran. Some of the prestigious trains being run by this zone of the railways include Deccan Queen, Gitanjali Express, Hussain Sagar and such other airlines. Besides ferrying passengers it also transports commodities which include that of Coal, Cement, Fertilizers, Sugar, and Containers etc. Vegetables like Onion etc. are also transported through various goods train falling under this zone. Eastern Railways is also one of the sixteen railway zones which have its head quarter in Kolkata. This division was formed on 14th April 1952. This zone came after merging of East Indian Railway and Danapur Divisions besides covering whole of the Bengal. Trains falling under category of Eastern Railways run to various attractive destinations in the regions some of which are as follows, these include Kolkata, Belurmath, Sunderbans, Deoghar, Munger, Gour Malda and many such other places reaching where trains of this region have vital role in taking passengers to the destinations. East Central Railways has its headquarters at Hajipur. It is from here a large number of trains are managed by this zone. This zone is further divided into four zones which are as Danapur, Samastipur, Sonpur and Dhanbad and Mugasarai. This zone of the railways is one of the yongest zones of the Indian Railways. Danapur division was started in the year of 1925 after taking over East India Railway by the government. Areas served by Samastipur division include that of Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Purneaa, Madhubani, Araria and such others. Similarly Sonpur division of this division includes that of Chhapra (Saran), Vaishali, Samastipur, Bhagalpur etc. East Central Railways also operates trains to various attractive destinations falling under its regime. This zone also carries lakhs of passengers on daily basis besides ferrying good and commodities.
